FOREIGN LANGUAGES Latin Latin, though sometimes er- roneously considered a dead lan- guage, proved to be a most popular course at R-H. Discussions of Rom an c u s t om s, the recount- ing of ancient myths, and making replicas of Roman articles boosted the students through difficult con- structions in grammar and made Julius Caesar seem a personal friend. Spanish Yo hablo Espanol ? This ques- tion is frequently heard in the vicinity of room 20. By studying the customs of the Spanish peoples, the students realized how much this country had contributed to modern civilization and culture. Mrs. McNair, Mrs. Holt Mr. Green, Mr. Ramsey, Mr. Bailey, Mr. Starling Library Colorful bulletin boards and im- aginative displays stimulate stu- dents to use the library more ef- fectively. The majority of those who use the library facilities do research, gathering materials from the periodical shelves or from refer- ence books. Students in search of pleasure reading choose from fic- tional or biographical novels. In addition to reading matter, the library provides films, slides and records. Students are introduced to new mate1'ial through showcase dis- plays, while teachers become ac- quainted with the resources at a faculty tea. Miss Barksdale is al- ways on hand to answer questions, locate materials, and generally aid the students. Agriculture Vocational Agriculture is a nationwide program of instruction in Agriculture and farm mechanics conducted in public schools for persons over 14 years of age who have entered upon or who are pre- paring to enter upon the work of the farm, or related occupations. l Miss Barksdale Departments
