Vivian llarris. and Charlotte Botkin. This team played some six or eight games with fair suet-ess uniler the hanclieap of no regular eoaeh. This team eonsisted of lVilliam Catey. Rohert. Botkin. Lawrenee Harvey, Roger Crauor. 'William Hunt. Clyde Gordon and Rex lieelca. with Ray Addington as eoaeh. Huntsville defeated Losantyille and in turn were defeated hy Jefferson. 'During the year 1922 the team ineluded Botkin. Gordon. Harvey. Catey. Delhert Smith. Rohert Gaddis. Cranor and James Stevenson. After a sueeesaful seaion they went to the tournament in high spirits. ln the first game they defeated Green hut were defeated hy lliilgeyille in the Seeond game. Tn 1923 the team eonsieted of Stevenson. Leelca. Catey. Smith. Cranor. Earl Beard. Oliver Thornhurg and Carlton Gaddis. with Sipe eoar-hing. were downed in their first game at the tourna- ment hy Spartanluirg. In 1924. Leelca. Gail Gaddis. Beard. Smith. Russell Tlioinas. Catey, lVilhur Cougill and 'l'hornh1u'g. with Millholland eoaehing. defeated Saratoga and were defeated hy Stoney Creek at the eounty tourna- ment. In 1925. Gaddis. Cougill. Smith. Although handicapped by the lack of a gymnasiuin, Coach Rubey succeeded in turning out one of the foremost basketball teams in the county. They won ten games of the seventeen played prior to the tourna- ment. They lost their first tournament game to Modoc by a score of 94-QQ. This was the first upset in the dope, .with which the 1926 tournament was puugently flavored. Ralph Byrum, center and captain, was a player of ability. Paul Byrum is a flashy player at the forward post. Charles Jessup. another forward of class. has ample speed and pep. lVilbur Tegarden supplies the team with plenty of grit and ight at his defensive post. Carl lllashler is as solid as Gibraltar when it comes to opposing forwards. The second team consisted of Homer Reich, Ronald DeRolt. Robert Sulli- van, Ralph Cox and Clarence Jessup. These husky lads will provide excellent material for a class team next. year. Jackson school has occupied an enviable position in track iu the past.
