On the morning of 1 October 1967 Captain C. H. Yeagle, USN, relieved Captain R. T. Stephens, USN, as Commanding Officer of the oiler SABINE during shipboard ceremonies. What made this ceremony unique was the fact that it took place at sea when the oiler was alongside the RANDOLPH. Following the ceremony the hoses were run over and fuel was transferred. We Worked hard during the past three monthsj but, our accomplishments made the deployment worthwhile. The trip home was not always smooth sailing. . . but, this did not stop us from refueling or meeting any of our other requirements. ff!
