Cald- well, Chief of Staff for Com- mander Air Force, U.S. At- lantic Fleet, presents the 1955 Chief of Naval Opera- tions Aviation Safety Award to Captain Renard in cere- monies at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth. The award was presented to the Randolph for her outstand- ing safety record and her commendable efforts in pre- venting aircraft accidents. Vice Admiral F. W. Mc- Mahon, Commander Air Force, U. S. Atlantic Fleet, arrives at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, to present the Randolph with the 1955 Battle Efficiency E. The Randolph received the highly-coveted award as a result of maintaining the highest possible standards in gunnery, engineering, damage control, seamanship and communications. ilu QV ,,, AX
