She has given her time and concern to make our education worthwhile and our high school years profitable. Even though we pressured her with our questions and problems, she showed unending patience and a willingness to help. Her interest in each student as an individual has instilled in each of us a desire to go forward, and her lasting devotion to us has made her something special. We, the Senior Class of Nineteen Hundred and Sixty-Eight, sincerely dedicate this, the twenty-fifth volume of the Rendezvous, to a teacher who has given us an unforgettable friendship. Down through the years he has given his time, his interest, and his concern to help us reach our goals. His patience and his willingness to help have been an inspiration to each of us throughout our high school career. When problems arose he was always there to give his advice and no problem was too small for his undivided attention. In sports, no one else could have given the leadership and interest that we required of him. For your dedication to us, Mr. Joe Brookshire, we thank you. âThe head boneâs connected to the neck bone. W. Hines Mr. Clifford Williams 23 In a world that is centered around communication, language is a must. The Language Department at Randleman High provides the background that every person needs to take his place in life. From the simplest grammar to the heart of Shakespearean drama the En glish language is brought to life for each student, individually. Through the diligent teaching of the French lan- guage a new doorway is opened to students to the world outside of the United States. The study of language whether it be English or French gives the student more power to learn by giving him the basic tool with which to work--the ability to read and write. Mrs. Ann Roberts Science Department Science, like virtue, is its own great rewar A genuine challenge to the high school student - a gate way to new horizons - is the unexplored field of science. With the doors to biology, che- mistry, and physics open to them, students wander into this uncharted field and conquer it. Mrs. Mauon McIntosh OIE Mr. Fletcher Causey Mr. Leo Corder  24 Math Department The challenging and complex world of math As todayâs society grows more complex, mathematics comes to play a greater role in manâs daily life than ever before. The puzzling concepts of mathematics are explored by means of a variety of courses ranging from general math to trigonometry. Mrs. Elaine Haigler Mrs. Flora Jones Mr. Larry Ward 2 Vocational Department They prepare us for our future Vocation The Home Economic and Agricultural Departments at R.H.S. teach students . skills that will be of great value to them in their future lives. Students realize that these departments give knowledge that will always prove practical in everyday life. Mr. Bill Hutchins Mrs. Elizabeth Peeler Mr. Charles Daniels Mr. Ed Daniels 26 Business Department Their aim: To make business a pleasure The Business Department at Randleman High is most efficient in preparing students for a rewarding career in the business world. Undivided attention guides those awkward fingers across the key- board. Through intensive study and that all-important guiding hand, shorthand, bookkeeping and typing become a vital and im- PH portant part of each student who hopes to become a secretary. Very few students leave the Business Department at R.H.S. with- out a feeling of capability and of responsibility; no student leaves without a sense of having accomplished something that will help him throughout life. ATHLETICS 59 Football The Tigers broke even this year, winning five games and losing five. The season started on a sour note, losing 26-0 to Sumner. The team recovered to defeat Denton and Ledford before taking it on the chin from Guilford, 27-8. Next the Big Blue scored a Big Upset by turning back unbeaten Liberty 20-13. This was followed by successive setbacks at the hands of Central Davidson and West Davidson. The Homecoming game followed, and the Tiger eleven rose to the occasion to lay a 18-7 hurting on arch-rival Trinity. East Davidson came to town the following week sporting an un- blemished record, but when the game was over, they had suffered a 20-14 defeat at the hands of a fired-up Randleman crew. The team journeyed to Allen Jay for the seasonâs finale, hoping to score their first victory over the Jaybirds, but came out on the short end of a 41-24 tally.
