'Vx ,,1' MR. W. K. CROMARTIE Principal Seniors of 1962 - This is your year. Some years ago you thought that it would never come. Then, suddenly, it has come, it lingers for a very short time, seemingly, and then almost suddenly it has passed. This is the way of life. We work long and hard for our goals, then if we are diligent and remain, while many of our group drop away, we find that for which we have worked is within our grasp and is upon us. Then in our hour of triumph we would like for time to stand still for a while for us so that we could rest for a time on our laurels. But this is not so for time moves on and we must work for those goals which are higher and sometimes harder to attain. lt has been said that the present is like a knife's edge which divides the past from the future. There is always much ahead of us but as the present approaches and is with us for a moment it becomes the past. All that is cont ained in this book will soon be among some of your precious memories and will be placed in that ever-growing library of yours labeled the past! Cherish these m e rn o ri e s that you find contained herein but don't try to live with them. Your hope lies in the future. It has been said that the future belongs to those who prepare for it. Those things that are recorded in this book are a part of the preparation that you have made for the future. It appears that the preparation of the class of 1962 has been good, hence, a goodly portion of the future belongs to you. Cherish those memories that you find recorded here, but remember, continue to prepare for the future. If you do, it belongs to you. Most sincerely yours, William K.
