VV P' -fl 'F ffrfi -A mfs, Y W jf' U, ' H Us ,NYY 'VF' 47 ,n I 'L- V125 Va ughn cxmwv W P '1ef Carolyn Atkins Robert McElroy 3 SYQXCY Joyce F gaibat Ulla S 4.7614 In September of 1949 five of us entered Randall Rural High School as green freshmen We were Clinton Matter Robert McElroy Vaughn Prather Carolyn Atkins and Joyce Flum Mr Rees was our class sponsor We sold magazmes to make money for our class We started the sophomore term with the same members of the class This year we chose Mr Young as our class sponsor By this time we considered ourselves pretty familiar with the things a round RRHS and could look down on the green freshmen This year and the remaining two years we had the foods room as our means of making money Barbara Strlley from Denver and Norman Hoard Jorned our class making us a total of seven members The Iurnor year was started with eight members Rodney Gordanrer was the new member Mr Young was chosen as our sponsor for this year He helped us in presenting our play Mistaken ldentrty We worked hard rn preparrng a banquet for the Semors The themewas The Last Round Up Our class numbered five at the beginning of the Senior year having lost Norman and Rodney On the first day of school we received our bright and shmy class rings We presented our play The Great Ben Allah with Mrs Koss as director The Juniors presented us with a very lovely banquet and Mrs Bxgham took their cars Wednesday afternoon and evening we drove to Ft Worth arriving there in the wee hours of the morning We were all very glad when we got our cabins for the evening so we could retire for the night for mornrngj The next morning we were not very early risers After dragging ourselves from our beds we spent the remainder of the morning shopping in some of the larger stores of Ft Worth and the boys toured some of the saddle shops After seeing the sights of Ft Worth we started on our way a little after noon That aftemoon we had a very emoyable trip driving through the desert The weather was very pleasant this time of the year We stopped rn Hobbs New Mexico for supper After supper we drove to Carlsbad where we spent the night We arrived there about 9 30 so we went to a late show Friday morning we were up bright and early and went through Carlsbad Caverns After seemg the sights around Carlsbad we drove on to El Paso We drove mto Old Mexico to look around Saturday we spent the day driving to Pueblo Colorado We got up bright and early Sunday morning and attended the Easter Sunrise Services Sunday was spent rn leisurely winding our way homeward We all arrived home tired but we all agreed we had had a very enjoyable trip Sponsored by Mankato Lumber Co Mankato Kansas Hardman Lumber Co Formoso Kansas Q I 1 On April l, about 12130 p. m. the seniors left for their senior trip.
