JT ,, 1 I, L The U ,Y KSENIOR CLASS presents the 1958 RED OAK RANCOCAS VALLEY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Mount Holly New Jersey Frederick W. Evans, Superintendent Harry E. Wenrich, Principal Foreword Realizing that the area in which we live is rich in historical background, the class of T958 decided to highlight these points of interest. The results ot their endeavors lie here between the covers ot the T958 RED OAK. The waters of the Rancocas, from which our school draws its name, flow steadily toward their destina- tion. In much the same way, our students make their way through their four years of high school. They reach their goals, not unlike the tributaries ot the Rancocas, to mingle thereafter in the greater waters of Lite. As our school draws its students from many dis- tricts, we have taken the history of all of these to give a more nearly complete picture ot the rich and varied countryside in which we live. The Class of I958 takes pleasure in presenting the T958 RED OAK and Rancocas Valley, U.S.A. In Memoriam lt was with great sorrow that we experienced the passing of Mr. Albert O. Dreher. Mr. Dreher was a devoted friend and teacher to students of Mount Holly High School. Contents ADMINISTRATION SENIOR UNDERCLASSMEN ACTIVITIES SPORTS ADVERTISING -ul I. fs -.:. ffl:-v,Q'Z Q. o? Always ready To listen and give aid, Mrs. Ames has been an inspiration To The class. Her high ideals and rare integrity have sei a goal To which we all aspire. 4 A town council is the motivating force in a com- munity. The Board of Education serves our school in much the same manner. To them we owe most of the improvements in our school. With the new con- struction in progress, their job this year has certain- ly been a ditticult one. The Rancocas Valley Regional High School Board of Education consists of Mr. Norman R. Zelley, president, Mr. Joseph A. Gerdel- mann, vice-president, Mr. Robert C. Shinn, secretary, Mr. Charles M. Cooper, custodian, Mr. Charles S. Miller, Mr. Colin F. Tait, Mr. William P. Croshaw, Mr. Joseph A. Green, Mr. Spencer M. Scheckter, Mr. Elli- ott A. Hussey. A town without a mayor is as useless as a school without a superintendent. Our superintendent of schools, Mr. Frederick Evans, has been one of the mainstays ot our school. His capable handling of the many administrative problems has made our years Aomiuliiiliiiiitlow Next on the list ot essential persons in a com- munity is the town manager and iust as essential to our school is our principal Mr. Harry Wenrich. Mr. Wenrich has been an important part ot our four years at high school. His friendly attitude and co- operative nature have made him easily accessible to the students of the school. Assisting Mr. Wenrich is Mr. Leo Cantelope, our assistant principal. His fair and capable handling ot many ot the disciplinary problems has earned him the respect and admiration of the student body. His genuine interest in our problems has added to the enioyment ot our years here at Mount Holly. 5 Ls.. wx Y we ' + ...il fly' 'SNL 'fs 'ff' x . I I X M-4. - . -r.. , ' Vim L ' ,if . WASHINGTON TRIP An exciting and memorable event during our four years at Rancocas Valley Regional High School was our senior trip to Washington, D.C, It all began with a train ride to Baltimore where we boarded buses to Annapolis. At Annapolis we were thrilled with all the splendor of our Naval Academy. All too soon, we resumed our iourney to Wash- ington. Our stay at the Hotel 2400 was most enioyable, and we really saw the sights of our nation's capital. We were impressed with the Capitol Building with its magnificent dome and the chambers where our legis- lative bodies meet. The spaciousness of the White House was most impressive. The Lincoln Memorial was an inspiring sight, and across from it we could see the stately Washington Monument. Later, we took a climb to the top of that great memorial. Truly a beautiful place was Mount Vernon, which is located on the bank of the Potomac River, the grounds with their symatic splendor are a thrill to remember. Our visit to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving was very interesting. We saw workers counting and making those beautiful green backs. Everywhere Washington delighted us. Upon arriving home we agreed that the memories of this trip would remain in our hearts and minds for years to come. i Z? X i, x, 5, 1 40 ,V . Mr. Hardy, a judge, has problems concerning his re-election because a crooked party is trying to swing votes against him, The two oldest daughters, Estelle Hardy Campbell and Myra Hardy Wilcox, are married and out of the way, or so it was thought before the sisters decided they weren't happy and came home to mama, These problems and many more point out that the Hardy family is skidding. When Judge Hardy takes a firm hand, the problems seem to come under control.
