History states facts U.S. Government is the study of American political institutions, traditions and practices of federal and state levels, stated Mr. Walker, the chairman of the Social Studies Department. Mr. Walker felt that every student should take Social Studies classes to get a better under- standing of their country, to become better citi- zens and learn the responsibilities of being an American. 'Q-My l There were eighteen classes offered in this S department. One of the classes was World His- tory which helped students understand why J, world problems exist today and perhaps how s they might be solved. According to Mr. Walker, Psychology and Human Relations were the most popular classes because they enabled stu- dents to understand themselves and others. Another class which helped students to understand themselves was Sociology which was taught by Ioe Lendini, the newest teacher in the Social Studies Department.
