He was an active member in such groups as Stu- dent Council, Public Service Projects Commit- tee, and Soccer. Mario states, The customs in America are much different from those in Equador. The housing conditions and the schooling are very different also! Mario likes the idea that you can choose the classes you want. In Equador you must take the required classes they give you. He feels that Rancho is a very good school and the teachers were very helpful The other activities he was interested in were football and tennis. In Equador Mario plays rugby which is very similar to soccer. Mario stated, One of my favorite pastimes in Amer- ica is eating pizzag they don't make it back in Equador. At home in Brazil I like to spend my time on the beach. E t ge 1' 1 . it f55iES'j America was a fun place to be, I hope someday Rita relates to Rancho Rita Kulnig is from Victoria, Brazil. She really enjoyed Las Vegas, and Rancho. She became an active member of such groups as, Girls' Basket- ball, which took state this year, Volleyball, Soc- cerettes, Ski Club, Student Council, Dance Committee, Poster Committee, and Public Serv- ice Projects Committee. Rita really enjoyed Homecoming week. She worked on the senior float, and was nominated for homecoming Queen. Rita lives in a town that is more modern than most parts of Brazil. She spends a lot of time at home on the beach. Rita lived with the Avance family, they had three other children attending Rancho, Mike, Shari, and Kenny. Rita feels that in her year here in the United States she became a part of the Avance family, and Rancho High School. I enjoy sports, it was exciting taking state in to come back. When I leave the Avance family it will be just like leaving my own family. Foreign Exchange 21
