watches closely as I. V. wrestler Karl Butler endeavors to pin Eldorado's Wrestlers attain titles I. V. wrestlers along with coaches lay Thomp- son and Carl Barbeau, started the season with one win and three losses, however, the team went on to win the remainder of their matches. This year's I.'V. Tournament was held at Bonanza High School. Rancho's Bart Davis took first place. Second place was captured by Guy Affeldt, Dirk Wagner, and Angel Mazzeo. Seventy-seven's outstanding I. V. wrestlers are Mike McGinnis, Sophomore, Guy Affeldt, Iuniorg Dirk Wagner, Sophomoreg Bart Davis, Iuniorg and Angel Mazzeo, Iunior. Each week I. Girls have good ear The bump remained in style this year along with the set, spike, and serve when it came to the girls' volleyball team coached by Bonnie Flaagan. They played for the Zone Title for the sixth consecutive time in six years and for the i State Title for the second time in two years. The State Tournament was held in Reno, Nevada and the games were played at the Uni- t versity of Nevada Reno. The first game, the girls worked together and defeated the defending t state champions Basic Wolves two games to 'o get a good spike, you need a good set. Lesa McClain shows good style. One- The 3eC0nd team they met Was Eldorado High School. Eldorado was eliminated in two games. The third game which was for the State Title was Rancho against Valley. The match went three, long, hard, games with Rancho los- ing by three points at the sound of the buzzer. In every zone and state championship that has been held for girls' volleyball, Rancho's girls have participated in every championship game. The team consisted of two freshmen, four sophomores, three juniors, and .five seniors. They practiced four days a week and had games on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sandra Dixon was chosen All-Conference hitter, and Lesa McClain was chosen A1l-Con- ference setter. Receiving team honors were QP Sandra Dixon, Most Valuable Playerg and Vaso Tsalis, Most Improved Player. is a game that is played low, and close to the floor, as Vaso Tzalis displays.
