Iunior Varsity's player, 4112, got a swipe at the basketball against Las Vegas and intentionally took it away. BU Flaagan. ati gd E I.V.'s first in league Iunior Varsity Girls' Basketball Team sup- plies the players to the Varsity team. I.V. is a training ground for the next year. Bonnie Flaa- gan, their coach, provided the expertise as the records show. The I.V. Team showed their sis- ter team that they don't play around when it comes to basketball by winning all of their games in the first of the season and Continuing their record for the rest of the games. Ms. Flaagan put it, when asked if she had any comments on her team, We have strength and are really doing just great! T Girls s ing into State The girls' golf team, coached by Iudith Smi- I ley, really got into the swing of things this year. They placed third in the divisional title and fifth in the state tournament, and went 8-3 for the season. Coach Smiley's golf team consisted of nine t girls who put four to five hours of practice in every day. Their practices were held at Hartke Park and their matches were played at Winter- wood, Black Mountain, Sahara. Nevada, and the Desert Inn golf courses. Shana Cochran and Pam Smith scored the lowest consistently throughout the season, but t Coach Smiley stated that she was proud of all her golfers and couldn't pick a most valuable player for the season. When asked what makes a good golf team she replied, practice, practice and concentra- tion.
