132 Boys' Tennis Bo s' Tennis finishes - Tennis is a sport of skill that is played indi- vidually. The Rancho Tennis Team showed both individual improvement and team effort. Tom Barrett, Iuniorg Mark Bloomfield, Sen- iorg and Craig Nesbitt, Senior, are three return- ing lettermen in Singles. This year there were four Seniors, four Iuniors, and four Sopho- mores. Rancho tied two games this year. However, they were considered Rancho victories because of the overall games, 113 games to 95 games against Eldorado, and 110 wins to 101 games against Bonanza. The ending season record was four wins, and seven losses. Coach Stanley commented, Ten- nis is good to get into because it's a lifetime sport. 134 Girls' Tennis Girls' team l impro es Q Coming off a 3-7 season from last year, the girls took one step up with a 4-7 season record. Five Seniors, three Iuniors, four Sophomores, and two Freshmen made up the 1977 Girls' Ten- nis Team. Donna Sollberger was Captain for the year. This season's Co-Captain was Frances Medlin. Both girls were seniors. The team's leading lady was Coach Marvel Barnson. Coach Barnson stated, We have good Freshmen this year. Most of them didn't play last year. Estell Bermudez puts power and concentration into her swing. Estelle was freshman this year. , .,,. .
