Tuesday and Thursday nights of each week shouts from the gym can be heard. Who else could it be, but Rancho's cheerleaders. These are not just shouts, they are cheers which help to promote more enthusiasm and create better sportsmanship around the campus and wherever any representative of Rancho may go. Besides cheering, they raised funds a buy new uni- forms and finance a trip to a Cheerleader workshop. As a result the cheerleaders of Rancho High School are the most outstanding in Southern Nevada. S GIRL S 'I' Outstanding members of the Junior class were selected to represent Rancho at Boys' and Girls' State held last June. These students joined with others from high schools all over the state to form a mock government. Student officials were elected to govern Nevada cities and counties. The delegates to this convention were given an opportunity to learn and appreciate how state governments function by actual participation. Among other things they are also taught how to use voting machines. Many long and lasting friendships are made during this week of learning and fun.
