Each Frosh reacts differently to the expectations of the seniors, the tolerance of the juniors, and the superiority of the sophomores.. A fresh- man enters school with mixed feelings, indeed. Lost in the throngs of students, he looks desperately for someone like himself for reassurance. He spends the first few days in dazed collection of books, recollection of numbers and names, and pushing a little farther into a pocket for the money with which to buy the things there are for a frosh to buy: a beanie, a looseleaf, a miniature pennant, a Ram for autographing, and all the things he can never keep track of . . . pencils, erasers, paper . . . After becoming more familiar with his surroundings, the frosh emerges from his shell of shyness and confusion to join the club or organization he favors. Here again he finds himself busy with initiations, meetings and parties. After the first report card, the frosh learns where he stands with regard to the serious side of school and, spurred, tries to work hard and improve, or, satisfied, continues the set pace, or tapers off until the next card. The year passes, filled with many activities, and the freshman checks his books in again with much more ease than he had the previous semester when he got them. Feeling he's made the grade, he looks forward to the coming year when he'll be a soph. ggi' N Mi l MR. RAYMOND LOVE
