The cheerleaders found they had an excellent team to encourage and went into cheerleading with en- thusiasm. They looked forward to each game and worked out songs, routines, and cheers. The girls worked hard and enjoyed their year. They greatly anticipated trying out for Varsity Cheerleaders. The majorettes presented halftime entertainment at the basketball games, sometimes doing routines with the Major- ettes of Las Vegas High School. A willingness to work, natural ability and charm are quaIities each maj orette has. Leading the band through difficult maneuvers is no easy taskg and the three drum majors did very well. Aside from t all her teasing, she's warm-hearted and keeps the cheerleaders on their toes. SHARON BOIES Junior Well known for her efficiency. JEANNE FULTON Sophomore joyablef' Provides the necessary humor to make life en- Okay, hit it! Four graceful girls in short green outfits lead the spectators through a yell. After the final 'gRancho, Rancho, Go-oo Rancholi' the band begins to play and the cheerleaders begin hand motions. Bang, bang- you're deadli' The cheerleaders must do much more than stand before a crowd and go through their motions. They spend many hours practic- ing, hold conferences, and make arrangements for the many activities in which cheerleaders are expected to participate. New routines, yells, and chants must be presented to the student body at a Pep Assemblyg new uniforms have to be financed and madeg good grades must be maintained. The cheerleaders with their enthusiasm- and ability promote better sportsmanship and create more spirit among the students. The four girls back the RAM teams all the way and encourage others to do the same. iT .1ie f A . .
