Administration The buzz of the switchboard . . . the bite of the typewriter . . . the intermittent calls over the P.A. system . . . Friendly banter between the girl working in the office and the counselor in search of a missing record . . . the student rushing in late for a conference again . . . the attendance secretary walks from her office to ask a question . . . the principal's secretary pressed to fit in just one more appointment . . . A passing faculty member is reminded of a faculty meeting as he stops at his box for mail, a notice for the picture of the club he advises, day after tomorrow, humm . . . he nods hello to the assistant principal as he returns to class . . . The attendance principal confers with the attendance officer on that annoying matter of ditching . . . a call goes through the switchboard for the assistant principal who jots down a few notes . . . he hangs up and leaves to speak with the principal before his next appointment with the Clearance Committee . . . n The inner sanctum and the long desk behind which sits the friend of all, our principal . . . always kind, sometimes stern, he is the master builder guiding the inexpert hands of youth who within these on T T walls would fashion simple foundations upon which great things are built.
