The Work Experience I 1 program at Rancho was designed to provide students with on-the-job experiences and training so that upon graduation they have some saleable skills which will benefit them in the job market. The general vocational programs were available to students sixteen years of age and over. Students enrolled received both pay and credit while performing daily work assignments for a business in the community. Additional related instructions were given once each week which was designed to broaden the student's knowledge of the world of work. The exploratory program was available to students fourteen years of age and over. This program provided students with the opportunity to investigate various professions so that they could make a more intelligent career choice upon graduation. Credit was received for enrollment in this class. There were approximately two hundred students enrolled in the program. However, or eight hundred would have been enrolled if adequate staffing was available. the indications were that as many as seven 15
