A Popular Class . . . among Rancho students was Horticulture. Students learned to plant, feed, prune, and care for all types of plants. They also learned how to use different kinds of lawn and garden power tools. An important piece of equipment used in the class is a hothouse used for growing plants which require a warmer climate. Rancho is very lucky to have a Horticulture department. Very few high schools in the district have this program . 'Q'

It's the place where students discover the thrill and enjoyment of creating their own unique and personal works of art. 23 45 fi X English D pclrlmenl Composition, Literature, Speech, Creative Writing, and Reading are just a few of the many courses offered by our English department. The department consists of fifteen teachers giving one to five classes a day. There are approximately eight- een-hundred students enrolled in these courses. Freshmen and sophomores are required to take composition I and II, and literature I and Il. The remainder of the English courses are electives.
