Girls' Sports Society . . . t-sus-,.. K. Y- mrfi, 1-,L Hr Membership is open to all girls attending Rancho Alamitos High School. Each metnber must ltold a current A.S.B. card and shall pay dues of 500 per school year. This year we have 105 paid members. Unfortunately only approx. 45193 are actively involved in our clttb. The G.S.S. officers have just recently gone through a shake-up. Our New Officers are: Pres., Sylvia Fielder, V.P. , Sheila Prue, Sec. , Dixie Witteveen, Treas., Liz Whittaker, Hist. . Vanessa Mott, Publicity, Linda Perry, Spts. Coord. . Anna Marie Ramos, Asst. Pub. , Patti Selley and Patti Kill. Pam Kill also does the duties of Board Member at Large. The Advisor is Miss Vicki Kopecky. This year G.S.S. has been involved in the follow- ing activities: Sept. Picnic, Halloween Party and Insurance Sale, Nov. Potluck, Donkey Basketball ticket sale. Pancake Breakfast ticket sale, Dec. Candy Sale, Booster Tag sales and lan. SnowfMt. Trip. Upcotning events range from our Feb. Awards Dessert, proposed lntermttral Sports Progratn, a Spring Awards Banquet and the promotion of letter sweaters for the female athletes at Rancho. We hold general meetings every Wednesday during lunch. The purpose of these meetings is to inform the mem- bers of the monthly activities and to form commit- tees, etc. We also hold monthly board meetings. The purpose of G.S.S., as stated in our constitu- tion is: to promote involvement in girls' sports activ- ities, to emphasize the social and educational as well as physical values of sports, to promote the development of school pride and spirit, to be of service to Rancho Alatnitos High School and to fur- ther sportsmanship.
