Twelve Presiclenliol Classroom students spent one week in Washington D.C. tour- ing the Capitol and listening to lectures. A Presi- dential Classroom for Young Americans is a pro- gram offered to juniors and seniors. This program is a nationwide classroom in which the students are able to meet other people from all over the United States. The program also includes seeing such sights as the Washington Monument, the White House, Smithsonian Institute, the Penta- gon, the Senate and the Capitol Building. The students were able to listen to wellknown military leaders, Senators and the Supreme Court Justice who explained the functions of their positions and answered student questions. The Secllbearer award is considered a high honor at Rancho. In order to become a Seal- bearer they must have belonged to the Scholarship Club for at least four semesters during their sophomore through senior years. One of the four semesters must have been during their senior year. This year's Sealbearers were: Kevin Araki, Melanie Baker, David Cherney, Geri Gerhard, Selena Knight, Mark Leyes, Steve Neely, Donna Ralls, Darla Rigby, Allison Rogers, Stephanie Stevens, Marquita Taggart, Anita Taylor, Christi Wag- enbach, and Karen Wyatt. The poten- tial Sealbearers were Brian Colodny, Valerie Meldrum, Pam Pringle, Mike Rockwell, and Doyle Wagner.
