FW, 2' Vclrsify Volleyball Rancho's 1976 Volleyball Teams were a combination that's difficult to beat. The varsity was composed primarily of experi- enced and talented seniors who are working hard to make this our most successful season yet. Mike Whiting, Kevin Araki , and Perry Smith handled most of the passing chores, while Dave Wear, Phil and Todd Ripa, and Rick Anderson did a lot of spik- ing. Scott Graham and Mike Page add good defensive play. The junior varsity was mostly underclassmen striving to follow the traditions set by the varsity. Frank Sabot, Stan Vasquez, Mark Sands, Berry Faulkner, and Craig Anderson, along with Dana Swartz, Tim Moore, and Rick Shaffer were some of the many promising freshmen on the squad. Mike Mead, Pat Fitz- gerald, and Jim Dufault added experience and leadership to the 42 ICBITI. Girls' Badminton This year's Badminton Team was expected to be large, with many outstanding returning players that have had the experience of competing for Rancho's Badminton Team in the previous years. It was also expected said Coach Kepley that the team will do even better than last year's team that went to the finals. Coach Kepley said she believed they would take at least two of the four District positions.
