Although the Loss. . . of 1975 League Championships was a great disappointment for the Varsity Cross-Country team, it must be remembered that the team has been League Champs the last five years. The team finished a successful dual meet season, the proud owners of a 5-1 record after a narrow 27-29 loss to La Quinta . The team is dominated by a group of five seniors who won the Mission Viejo Invitational. Throughout the year the team has been led by the talented twins, Tim and Tom Becker, who contributed 9:45 and 9:46 two-mile clockings to that Invitational win. Tom Randle has been a consistent 3rd man with Steve Neely and Bill Goeke filling out the top five. Two sophomores and two freshmen also found their way on the Varsity team with some consistency. Harold Besaw and Scott Shipley with Kenny Vargas and Steve Martinez have all made a major contribution to the team's outstanding season. 13 All League meets were held at Mile Square Park. 23 Scott Shipley way ahead of his opponents. 39 Tom Randle as he crosses the finish line. 45 Tom Randle as he circles the lake's edge . 55 Varsity Team: Ctop rowj Tom Becker: Tom Randle: Steve Neelyg Tim Becker. Co-Ed Bowling . . . This year was highly successful, with 16 boys and 42 girls. Miss Tommye Kepley was the coach. Pam Carroll was the top bowler, going on to district finals with 9 other girls.
