They organized a fashion show for entertainment with the clothes modeled by girls in the Student Body. After the Mother Daughter Tea they made plans for the Big and Little Sister Day to be held in September. Fire Chief Umphress, with the aid of Larry Rehm, tests the respiration unit at the Fire Station. ...-., --v-..., -.--.-...- from Rancho participated in Youth Day this year. Many of the students attended actual board meetings where they could voice their opinions on subjects being discussed. Mike Devereaux and Judy Gaines were School Board Trus- tees, Keith Schroeder and Tom Howard were City Councilmen, Jack Ptak was Sanitary Board Member, Ron Guyer was Coun- ty Supervisor, and Arnie Pre- heim was Orange County Plan- ning Commissioner. This year for the first time some of the merchants in Garden Grove also participated in Youth Day. Ralph Nichols was Manager of J. C. Penney 84 Co. Lily Hooper, John Gewin, and Allan Algoso were Managers of Safeway. La Voz and El Conquistador staff members helped publish the Daily News. Youflz Day fr- 'AA woman's prerogative is to change her mind, thinks Judy Dissmore, as Brenda Givens, Mr. Charles La Rue, and Ralph Nichols look on at J. C. Penney. Arnie Preheim attends an official meeting of the Planning Commission with Mr. Harry Blade as part of the Youth Day activities. 79
