' Y' THE QUAD IS A BUSY PLACE during snack and lunch periods when we spread out on the green lawn and relax between classes. When we returned to school lost fall one ofthe first things we noticed was that grass, shrubs and trees had transformed the dusty rectangle into a campus landmark. Evidence that our cam- pus is still growing is gymnosium construction.

P- i ' T .3-.9 r- .iw A A BEAUTIFUL NEW LIBRARY to organize and hundreds of new books to process was the job facing Mrs. Virginia Kirkman, librarian, and Mrs. Dorothy Smith, assistant, when school opened last tall. Mrs. Kirkman ltop leftl and Mrs. Smith ltop rightl pounded typewriters steadily those first few weeks. Within a month after the opening of school they finally emerged from behind the high stacks of books and the library was open for business. Ar: 5.55-' .., .. ue.-4 .I -un-0 4 1. .- LITTLE VAQ couldn't wait until lunch time so he used his irresistible charm to persuade snack bar staff to sell him hamburger. The ladies gave in on condition that he find an inconspicuous place to eat it so the other students would not see him. THE SNACK BAR AND BOOKSTORE were completed last summer and ready for use when school opened. Both provide indispensable services to students. lLeftl Mr. Les Reafsnyder, in charge of bookstore, sells note- book to Betty Cobb. ,,r ,W , Juanita Gordon, Norma Jean Yeager, Nadene Cuptill and Mildred Stewart prepare food every day to be served at Snack Bar.
