District Sigrerintenclent RANCHO has a warm affection for Mr. Don- ald Kennedy, who served as principal during its first year and then moved up to become assist- ant district superintendent. Mr. Kennedy has served in the district since 1945 with 18 months' interruption during the Korean War. He started as a social studies teacher. - ,. ,........--W -'---F'-M District Sigderintendent DR. LEROY L. DOIG, who has been district superintendent for 30 years, will retire this year, leaving a worthy record of achievement. The dis- trict enrollment was 200 with one small high school in 1928 when he took over. Tremendous growth of the city added to administrative re- sponsibilities of the district which is now educat- ing an all-time high enrollment of 3,494 high school students. Rancho was planned and open- ed during the closing years of Dr. Doig's ad- ministration and a third high school lnow under- wayl is due to be completed in 1959.
