Nadine was call- ing the names e nsch, Howland, and Mihok, four world reknown members of an .'-,N 2fol.' basketball team, as Pat checked off the list. Back in the street Betsy Cushwa was assisting Tony Forlano with his luggage while Professor Pagach was earnestly conversing with Walt Ensdorf. Jackie Molthop stood close by taking notes for future reference. On the main deck Chris Folsom was escorting around the ship Donna Derowski, laden with hat boxes: Barbara Hall, carrying her batonsg and Sue Dawson, looking chic in one of her original creations. Along the pier I saw various groups of voyagers. Tom Dembia was autographing baseballs while Penny Misirian and Judy Sakal were busily snapping candids for Rosemary Darlington's travel- ogue. Sue Rumble was taking subscriptions for the ship's newspaper The Bam as Carole Seals was distributing copies of the Nugget. Way off to one side Margie Troast could be seen in deep discussion with Bill Webersinn and Nancy and Phyllis Witmer on the pros and cons of a boat trip. Carol Grifenhagen was supervising the boarding of her piano on the ship. Joan Dietert and Glenda Arentzen were carrying their easels aboard, closely followed by Marilyn Baker with her typewriter and Betty with Kathie Barnes. Bill Stipler seemed to be getting used to ocean voyages. Sue McGraw was talking with Ginni Grabinski, the purser, about the money she had won on a quiz show. Jane Pulis, U.S. repre- sentative to an education conference, stood behind Paul Moore, from whose brief case Leann Ritter, joke book in hand, heard ominous ticking. Bob Fischer, Bruce Kean, and Bruce Rufner, carrying tennis rackets, stood at attention as Camille Inserillo, Pat Armstrong, Lois Poxon and Patti Webb hoisted the flag. The-last one on board was Lynn Belli who had just finished her first Broadway hit. A few minutes later Robin Jones gave the signal and the voyage was under way. About an hour later I noticed Terry Garion and a few others who had missed the boat and had decided to fly over. Your reporter, Barbara Zisgen
