EXECUTIVEO IC' R Commander Slaight is a native New Yorker originally from Staten Island. As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy Annapolis, Maryland, he earned his commission in 1969 and started his first tour of duty on board USS Van Voorhis CDE-1028l as Communications Officer. In January 1972, after completing a one year tour in the Republic of Vietnam with the United States Navy Advisory Group, Commander Slaight reported as a student to the U.S. Naval Destroyer School in Newport, Rhode Island. ln October 1972 Commander Slaight reported on board USS Badger KEFG-10712 as Operations Officer. after which he served as tactics instructor for the Department l-lead course of the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Officers School. In July 1980 Commander Slaight completed a two year tour with Commander Carrier Group 8 as Assistant Surface Operations Officer. I-le then attended the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey. California earning a Masterfs Degree in System Technology. ln July 1982 he become Executive Officer of USS Parsons lDDG-31l until her decommissioning in December 1982. On 3 January 1983 CDR Slaight reported on board USS Ramsey CFEG-2l as Executive Officer. His military decorations include two Navy Commendation Medals, and various unit commendations. theater. and service medals. Commander Slaight is married to the former Mary Jane Carrol of Annapolis, Maryland. They have three children, James, Mathew, and Erica.

Ship's Servicemen accomplished the following, - Sold 37,350 soda's resulting in 823,505 in sales, sold 31.110 packs of cigarettes, collected 9200 quarters from one video game machine, washed over 72,000 pounds of laundry and made cash sales in the Ship's Store in excess of 869,000 Disbursing issued over 951,330,000 in checks and Disbursed over S782,517 in funds to ship's crew and authorized personnel.
