In the summer of 1960, he reported as Executive Officer of iss in-Liviai' gmc-14i, the first ofthe N:iiiv's new generation surface-to-air mis- sile destroyers. Following another Medi- tcrrzinean deployment, he reported to Vinshington ILC. to the Office of Naval Intelligence. ln lfall 1964 Captain ROBERTSON re- ported to Seattle and took command of LFS VJATTS QDD-567i during her last few months of commissioned service, and later was named as Prospective Commanding Officer, R.-XMSEY, in March 1965. He has since guided the ship through fitting-out, commissioning, underway training, combat readiness qualification and through R.1iIt1SEY's first Westpac deployment. Captain ROBERTSON married the former Frances Tuttle of Columbia, S.C. and has two children, Fran and Dixon.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER LIEUTENIINT COMMANDER RICHARD E. ONG, USN LCDR ONG was born in Oakland and raised in Lafayette, California. He re- ceived his commission as Ensign USNR in 1957 through the NROTC program at Oregon State College. LCDR ONG's first duty assignment was as first lieutenant, gunnery officer and supply officer aboard USS REXBURG QEPCER-8559. This was followed by duty as Battalion Commander and Ordnance Officer at the Recruit Training Command in San Diego. While attached to the Recruit Training Command he augmented into the regular navy. Returning to sea duty in July, 1960, LCDR ONG reported as CIC Officer to USS LEONARD F. MASON IDD- 852I. In March 1961 he was assigned to Destroyer Division 32 Staff as Operations and Chief Staff Officer, and in May 1962 was ordered to additional duty to DESRON 3 Staff. LCDR ONG reported to the Staff of Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet in February 1963, serving as Administrative Assistant in Operations. After two years with CINCPACFLT Staff he reported to the missile frigate USS COONTZ QDLG-95 as Operations Officer. In July 1966 he was transferred to Danang, Republic of Vietnam where he served as Plans Officer for Commander U.S. Naval Support Activity Danang, While attached to NSA Danang he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. LCDR ONG reported to RAMSEY in August 1968 from studies at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I., where he attended the school of Command and Staff. In September 1968 he received the Master of Science Degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. LCDR ONG is married to the former Joane Jochums of Berkely, California, and they reside with their two children in Cypress, California.
