They were: Patsy Raley, Janis Vinson, Carole Coast, Carol Harvey, Kay Ward, Norman Kincaide, Robert Simmons, and Donald Ward. Mrs. Ruby Sherrick was the teacher who started us on our road'upward. Our second year of school was taught by Miss Kibler and that year we welcomed Lawrence Peck to our growing class. Mrs. Jewell Davis was our teacher in the third year of school, and Laurell Workman and Frieda Allen joined our happy number. The fourth and fifth years of school passed with Miss Daugherty and Miss Ola Boone as our teachers. Mrs. Goode gave it a ny the next year and we were joined by Jim Clark. Mrs. Fiddler and Mr. French taught us in the seventh, while Mr. Lair was our teacher in the eighth grade. Instead of having the usual banquet in the eighth grade, we went on an Educational tour in Tulsa and near - by Communities. A Mrs. Arthur Justice was our sponsor during our Freshman year. We were joined that year by Dortha Owens, Betty Green, Phyllis Hawkins, Barbara Woods, Wade Topping, and James Pugh. During our Sophomore year we were sponsored by Mr. Arthur Justice. That year Ann Riggs was welcomed into our class. During our Junior year we were again sponsored by Mrs. Justice. That year we presented our Junior play, A Pair of Country Kids , directed by Mrs. Edna Pierce. The Juniors who took part in this play were: Mack Harris, Mary Hayes, Lawrence Peck, Norman Kinzaide, Ann Riggs, Janis Vinson, Wade Topping, Carol Harvey, Bill Adams, and Laura Cox. We had a Hawaiian Theme. for our Junior-Senior banquet, which took place on May 7, 1954. We were served by the Freshman and Sophomore girls. We sponsored the Junior cami - val and made around five hundred dollars. During our Senior year Mrs. Justice consented to beour sponsor again. That year our play was 'Bringing Up Mother , also directed by Mrs. Edna Pierce. The characters were: Patsy Raley, Wade Topping, Ann Riggs, Lawrence Peck, Carol Harvey, Norman Kincaide, Janis Vinson, Don Ward, Barbara Woods, James Pugh, and Carole Coast. We leave the Ramona School in the year of 1955 with nineteen Seniors. They are: Laurell Workman, Dortha Owens, Patsy Raley, Janis Vinson, Carol Harvey, Kay Ward, Ann Riggs, Carole Coast, Norman Kincaide, Lawrence Peck, Betty Green, Phyllis Hawkins, Frieda Allen, Robert Simmons, James Pugh, wade Topping, Donald Ward, Barbara Woods, and Jim Clark. tl' fm CLASS PROPHECY 1 ,a As I sit gazing into my crystal ball, a familiar face comes into view, why it looks like my old classmate P ' Freida Allen. She's riding her trusty horse through the cactus and sagebrushof her 60, 000 acre ranch inn, Texas. As this picture fades, another quickly comes into view. This time it is Carole Coast who is now head nurse at the hospital. It is her greatest delight to poke needles into her former classmates. Now I rub the crystal ball a llttle harder, and the familiar face of Jim Clark can be seen. I guess ,he fin- ally persuaded Kay ward to marry him. What's This? Jim is at home in their small trailer taking care of the little Clarks and we see Kay out looking for a job. Well, we can say we told her so. Betty Green appearsin our crystal ball, she is standing infront of her own drive -in resturant in the big city of Oglesby, but it Iooks as if she has some stiff competition from Bi1l's Beer Parlor right across the street. The proprietor is of course, Bill Kirkpatrick. As for Carol Harvey, she is keeping busy these days. We see her as she drives her taxi down the streets of New York City. We always said that girl would make good. lt looks like our old classmate Norman Kincalde has become famous as a basketball player. I-Ie travels all over the world and takes along his faithful wife and their three children, Ike, Mike, and Oscar. Now I see Phyllis Hawkins in her new position as assistant manager of Kress Dime store. This was her am- bition since she first started working there as a salesgirl. wel1,what's thls?Lawrence Peck is reclining in an easy chairin his penthouse in upper Manhatten, smoking his fifty cent cigar. His faithful bodyguard, Robert Simmons, is sleeping on the couch dreaming of the good old days when he was a Senior at Ramona High School. Now I see Dortha Owens, she is one of the famous Powers models who models Dior's latest creations. I never would have believed it , but our crystal ball shows that James Pugh is a famous television, comedian . He has his own television show 'This Was Your Life. I see the vision of Barbara Woods, she is keeping house for her husband and seven children in theigunodest house in washington. Wi? Coming into our view is Wade Topping. After ten years in the Army he has finally attained the rank of Corporal. ' Out of her fashionable apartment onFifth Avenue steps Janis Vinson, she is engaged to the author of that famous book 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Ann Riggs is still looking for that one and only, in the mean time she. passess her time in Hollywood, mak- ing movies. Patsy Raley is still working on her life ambition, to become the first lady president. an I keep rubbing the crystal ball, I see Don Ward, he has become a famous baseball player. The Brooklyn Dodgers elected him rookie of the year. And last we see Laurell Workman. She has set the wor1d's record for flagpole sitter. , sis Q ' CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of 1955 , of Ramona High School, being of sound mind and knowing this to be our last opportunity to will our abstract and concrete possessions to those who lag behind, leave the examples we have set as worthy scholars and ever blameless students, our faithfulness in never skipping school, and our record has been spotless and in all annals of our career we have done no deed, as a class, that we need blush for. To Mr. Piguet we leave our very splendid attention in assemblies. To Mr. Cockrum we wish to leave all the balloons, water guns, and worn out gum stuck on all the desks. To the teachers we leave all our unfinished home work, our scarred desks, and our old marked up books. Kay Ward wills her ability to hold on to one man to Ruth Bennefield. Norman Klncaide wills his black curly hair to Jack Margworth and hopes it works for Jack better did for him. ' Wade Topping wills his ability to chase all women to George Kinsey. Jim Clark leaves his height to Mike Pugh. . p To Linda Rosson, Frieda Allen leaves her love for horses and hopes Linda will accept this with pleasure. Patsy Raley leaves her quiet disposition to Charlotte Gagan and hopes she puts it to good use. than it To Don Topping, Lawrence Peck leaves his ability to play basketball and hopes he makes the main string. Robert Simmons leaves his absentees and tardiness to Ronnie Harris. A Betty Green wills her boyfriends out at Johnson's Drive -in to Vera and hopes she can do better in catching one than Betty did. James Pugh wills his ability to be the extra person on all of his friends dates to Jerald Freeman. Janis Vinson leaves all her old love letters to Loretta Plett and hopes she gets more good out of them than Janis did. Carol Harvey wills her ability to talk Mr. Patrick out of having Shorthand Class to Emma Topping. Caro1e.QCoast Cl088n'!rhave anyone special in mind, so she leaves Jerald to whoever takes a-fancy to him.. c s . Ward leaves his.No.33 basketball suit to Gary Ward and hopes he can play as good as Donnyfdid. To Barbara Fielding, Laurell Workman wills her ability to learn shorthand without trying. Ann Riggs reluctantly leaves her love of football players to Roseanne Jamieson. Phyllis Hawkins leaves her love of her English Class to ,Barbara Mosely. Barbara woods leaves her qygting ability to Stella in hopes that she makes good use of it. I With this last will and testament we'bid Ramona High School a fond farewell.
