Terrin Howell Dancing undercover,” Brooke says, Hey. look at THIS gorgeous leg!! One little, two little, three little ... seniors. Jacob Pierce saying Get down, Amy. Look at that spirit shine. 4 5 DARE TO DREAM Homecoming 86’s theme this year was SPIRIT THROlJGH THE AGES. The junior float w as the best example of this theme as it took first place. The homecoming game was played October 24th. against San Pasqual. Neither theJ.V. or Varsity teams won. but they certainly showed their spirit and pride from the beginning to the end. The Homecoming Court was introduced between the J.V. and Varsity games. The Court consisted of Tim Monetta and Megan McConvillc as the Freshman Prince and Princess. The Sophomore Prince and Princess were Travis McClcnghan and Gia Doxey. Jason McClenghan and Janet McCrite represented thejunior Class. The Senior attendants were as follows Brent Eidson. Julie I agar. Corey Mcnotti. Brooke Shake!. John Schweit- zer. Jae Marciano. Arthur Tovar, and Debbie Vaca. They awaited the release of the balloons which would signify this year's Homecoming King and Queen. As the red and Purple balloons fluttered and floated through the sky they designated that Arthur Tovar and Debbie Vaca were selected for 1986 Homecoming King and Queen. As the evening came to an end the sky was filled with dazzling fireworks and everyone left with joyful memories to treasure for years to come. 6 BULLDOGS 1. Raise your hands if you're sure! 2. We re here! 3. Say Aw ! 4. Do you actually expect us to cheer.'.' 5. How does it go again' 6. Come on. guys, you can do it!! UNITE Let’s Do Lunch McDonald's, Jack in the Box, El Ranchito and 7-11 arc all popular spots for the Bulldog crowd. With the forty-five minutes off-campus privilege, many students found local restaurants and stores to be quite adequate for their break between classes. Many people choose to stay on campus for lunch because they wanted to relax on the lawn and forget the hustle and bustle of going out to cat. Some people just enjoy socializing with friends or use lunch as a study period for an upcoming test. But whatever you use lunch for, everybody agrees, lunch is the most important part of the day. 1 12 13 FRIENDS UNITE What is a friend.' A friend is someone who shares the good times as well as the bad. A friend may be someone that you hang out with at lunch or a person you tell secrets to between classes. It may be someone who writes you notes, or someone who just listens to what you have to say. They are always there to comfort you when the going gets tough, and give you a feeling of being needed. But whatever friends may be to you, they arc an impor- tant part of our High School years and will always be a part of our lives and our fondest memories in years to come. Little Bo-Peep and her two sheep. Leslie and Heather ”Yuck ... What s that!!' Just gimme a kiss. Lynn and Mike, waiting for action. Let's Go Donna and Yvonne, best friends. 14 Class Competition Throughout the 1986-87 school year all of the classes competed in a scries of events which gained points for their class, such activities included pyramid building, tug of war. name that tune, and class yells. The whole purpose of class competitions is to pro- mote school spirit and have fun during lunch. They also help get people rowdied up for the football games. Many students enjoyed the class competitions during lunch. They were often humorous and added a much-needed break in the usual monotony at lunch. Please Let Us Out! Seniors 1. Least Likely To Be Forgotten: Raab Rydeen Michelle Sloane 2. Most School Spirit: Heather Paddock Lynrt Struiksma 3. Prettiest Smile: Brooke Schakcl Mark Tucker SEN IORITIS!! Many of the Seniors this year have a major disease. Some call it the I Hate School syndrome, but psychologists have a common name for it, SENIORITIS . They say it is catchy to all classes, especially seniors. There are many cures for this disease, such as: cutting class, going to the beach, shopping, or saying ' Mom. I really don’t feel good. So far there is no definite cure for this unfortunate disease — OH WELL. LIFE’S A BEACH!!! 1. SHYEST CHERYL OWENS MARK CONLEY 2. BEST LOOKING MARLA JAMES BRENT EIDSON 3. They were having trouble coming together as a team in the beginning, but finally got it together. They had some trouble keeping their concentration up. There were many good players on this team Marvin Wynn led the team in RBI's. Jason Gonzales covered the bases well. Johnny Vaughn hit very well. Jason Stratton was their most consistent player. He hit well and played good defense. Chad Waite is a potential varsity catcher. Tobey Hughes was their power hitter Bobby Stelick was a first-rate pitcher. They have had a much better year than anyone had expected. 73 GYMNASTICS TUMBLES ON The 1987 Gymnastics team started with a slow start be- cause of other CI.F. practices. They had their First meet and did fairly well. They are not far behind their highest league opponents. Their over-all score was higher than their highest score of last year. Therefore they are expected to do extreme- ly well. They have optionals. 4 being freshman, and they are a definite asset to the team. The Varsity team is solid this year and the team goal is to go CI.F. as a whole team. The Coach Claudia Maro feels they have an extremely high chance of completing this goal. 74 Top row: Tammy Pruitt. Celeste Kilmer. Tina Swift. Bridget Gorman. 2nd row: Polly Affeldt. Susan Cornett. The chemistry class has expanded greatly this year because of candy sales. The money from this provided the much-needed lab equipment that was necessary for good classes. Because of this, lab time has increased giving students a greater variety of experiences. 114 DEPARTMENT THIS IS ... Due to unexpected picture problems, we sincerely apologize for the following history teachers not being included; Mr. Heard, Mrs. Owens. Mr Richardson. Mr. Gallion, and Mr. Skahan. From establishing mock governments to heated debates about controversial subjects and a number of in-class current event discus- sions. the history and civics teachers have been giving their students the opportunity to see history as it really is and not just empty words on a printed page. They are also trying to prepare students for the future by giving them a sound historical perspective. Mr. Holt. Mr. Johnson went to France in an exchange program with Mr. Anton, the new French teacher. As the end of the year approached, many students began to speak Spanish and French fluently. Next year there are plans for German classes with Ms. Leilein. Mr. Richard Hill The Business Department. The Business Department has made a number of changes in the past year. Primarily they have consolidated the district and ROP Business Education classes to provide a more coherent, programmed approach to the Business Education Curriculum, with the end result being to provide students with a solid Business Education background in typing, accounting and comput- er skills that they can take directly to the Business world upon graduation. 120 Mrs. Martin-KIement telling a stu- dent. The Food Trades course offers much edu- cational value in the knowledge of food and cooking. Beverly Spiker and Roslyn Pickerill, her teacher's aide, work together as a team to teach their students all they need to know about food. You learn how to cook. bake, and wash dishes; you also learn the basic duties of a waiter and waitress. Mr. Warren Roper was the A.S.B. advisor and commented. We tried to please everybody and This year's A.S.B. were doers. Dear Bullodgs, The school year of 1986-1987 has been an interesting one. From the canceling of assemblies to lunch time activities, from increased sports transportation fees to red flag days, we have received tests of courage and strength. But through it all we have remained true to our school. We have taken our stand and become Bulldogs. Times have changed at Ramona High School. Students have left, new faces are seen, but the heart of the Bulldog remains as solid as before. We have taken the best and the worst from all sides. We have learned to deal with adversity and fear. We arc better people for it. But it is time to look to the fu- ture now. The Bulldog must learn from his mistakes and move on. Our seniors arc graduating and won't return for several years, but in time they will make the journey. They should note the accomplishments they have achieved while in school and be proud of themselves. The day these seniors return they will finally realize that, even though they have graduated, they are still pan of the Bulldog family. The underclassmen of Ramona will have the same feelings in time, but I would suggest one thing before they leave. Please get involved. Use your years left as a Bulldog to participate in any activity. When the time comes you will know, but don't pass up a chance because your friends don't want to. Be yourself; be an individual. This will help you in the future. My fellow Bulldogs, a final request: Be wise, be alert, participate and be an individual because you arc a Bulldog. This you can't forget! Actually being on the yearbook staff is hard work, and it’s difficult to get a B! This year s yearbook staff worked hard all year and we have this yearbook to show for it. Every day in class we struggled to meet the deadlines and requirements for a success- ful yearbook. Kellie Eakes. the yearbook staff editor, was under a lot of pressure to keep everything going smoothly and orga- nized. but she made it. along with all the people in the class. True, yearbook was tough. There were copies that had to be written, pictures that had to be taken, dead- lines to meet, but we have to admit... it was fun! The final determination, however, of a quality yearbook is not just from its stan- dards, but how it is received by its customers — the students. They are the ones who de- cide if this is a quality book, one worth buying and keeping for years to come. I'm not ready for today. Looking at something amusing, girls' Tamra. hard at work. All these students have achieved a lot through this program, but they all have the same difficulty which is being able to do things for themselves. That is the goal of this class, to make them as indepen- dent as possible. They are taught all types of skills that they'll need to be independent. They are learning job skills, proper transportation, street crossing, interacting with strangesrs, home skills like laundry, cooking etc., and what kind of games they can play while at home with their family or when they're by themselves. They all have regular jobs and they get paid for their work and have their own bank accounts. They take the public transportation system called Fast. There are three different places that they all work at: The Wild Animal Park. Pizza Hut. and Homestead Ceiling Fan Company. They work four days a week, two hours a day. The director.
