The Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheer- leaders and Songleaders Who are introduced in this section have led our students to greater heights of spirit than ever before known at Ramona High School. It was each student's tremendous enthusiasm and pride for his school which has made this 1962- 63 school year such a perfect one. A salute to the Cheerleaders and Songleaders for their fine work. The 1962-63 Homecoming will always be remembered as one of the greatest events of the year. Every single student, teacher, and alumnus seemed to be filled with excitement and spirit. Darice Tippets was the over all chairman of Homecoming. Jim Dohn assisted her. The fired up Ramona boys out-played the Titans completely, but unfortunately came out at the short end with a final score of 14- 13. Homecoming Queen, Frosty Head, was crowned by ASB President, Greg Brown, during a most beautiful half-time ceremony. Proclaimed Princesses were: Senior, Darice Tippets, Junior, Melinda Zentz, Sophomore, Beverly Meador, and Freshman, Denise Henry. The 1961-62 Homecoming Queen, Judy Cowell, presented Miss Head with a bouquet. The annual Homecoming Dance was held in Wilson Gym following the game. He added tremendously to the spirit of the school and was a friend to all. Metchiel came to Ramona from his home in Indonesia. He attended RUHS as a senior, but actually had already graduated from high school in his own coun- try. His mastery of the English language is remarkable. After a week at RUHS, Metchiel was in the swing of things. He especially en- joyed the bus ride to Imperial, thinking that the stop-over in the desert for two hours was a common occurrence. His friendly personality has warmed the heart of every student and faculty member at Ramona High School. Metchiel, we'll remember you always! .va ;.
