(IdmihaL TO THE MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR CLASS In delivering this formal message to the out- going class, I desire to pay tribute to the group for the sacrifice, persistence, and devotion that have brought them to this glad hour. For edu- cation requires all three of the above qualities, and in no small measure. In the contract of secondary education the school has striven to do her part adequately, and you have done your share well. It is with gladness and pride, therefore, that the school shall confer upon you her diploma, her certi- ficate of duty well done. The days of high school are over for the seniors and the way of life stretches out before you. But be sure of this: No matter where you shall go over land or sea, whether you serve in America or in the uttermost parts of the earth, your Alma Mater will follow you in love and in interest. Your defeats will be our defeats, and your victories will be our victories. You are our living epistles. The world will little note what is written here, but it can never forget the lives that you live. See to it, therefore, that our banner of idealism shall continue to be a part of you all the days of your life. Life is an education in itself. In these times of ever changing :onditions and values, we believe that it is fitting and proper to pause and reflect on some of the funda- mentals that never change. We refer to some of the various ele- ments that help to constitute char- acter. Among these are truth, nonor, duty, resourcefulness and reliability. These values are of as great importance today, as they were a thousand years ago. To this we would add faith. Keep faith with yourself, your ideals and prin- :iples. Keep faith with democracy.
