Jenkins was born at NAS Jacksonville, FL on l7JUL84, , while his father was stationed nearby at NAS Cecil. Through a number of moves in the South Texas area he eventually ended up in Victoria, TX. In A 2002, he graduatedpat the top of his class from Victoria High School and was appointed to the US Naval Academy: While at Annapolis, he majored in General Engineering with an emphasis in aeronautics. He Was also involved in the Chapel-Color Guard and various other activities. In the spring of 2006, he graduated and received ordersto USS RAMAGE. 5 onboard RAMAGE, fi Division Officer and the Engineering Training Officer. He successfully led R i Division through a DC Rip and LOA during POM with half of Engineering on V leave. Subsequently R Division successfully completed two TSTAs1while preparing for deploymcllf 2111 1 5th Fleet. .Upon the arrival of the new Chief Engineerand the realignment of Engineering Department, was reassigned as Main 2 Division Officer. He attended basic training at RTC San Diego, CA. After basic training, GSMC Holland reported to the USS MCCANDLESS QFF-10841 as a deck Seaman. He served three and a halfyears onboard. ln 1988, he transferred to NTC Great Lakes to attend GSM A and C school. After graduation. he transferred to the S I . gg USS STUMP QDD-9781 as Work Center Supervisor and Leading Petty Officer. After I y five years onboard, he transferred to SIMA, where he was assigned to the Turbine Q Shop. He was moved to the Rigger and Crane operations where he served as Lead- ing Petty Officer. After 3 years at SIMA, GSMC QSWJ Holland transferred to the . USS LEYTE GULF CC G-741 where he served as Divisional Leading Petty Officer. 1 After serving his time onboard the USS LEYTE GULF, he attended Basic Instruc- R tor School. After the completion of this school, he transferred to the Center of Naval Engineering to serve as an Instructor for three years. Jones was born in Atlanta, GA and is a graduate of Tri-Cities High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on August 16, 1993 and attended Recruit Training in Orlando, Florida. Upon completion of recruit training, Chief Jones attended E1ectrician's Mate HA school at NFAS Orlando, Florida. After graduation, he received orders to USS ES- SEX CLHD 25 homeported in San Diego, California. Onboard ESSEX, he advanced to Electricianfs Mate Third Class in June 1995. After serving onboard ESSEX through two Western Pacific Deployments, Chief Jones was approved to cross rate to Gas Turbine Systems Technician fElectricalj. He transferred to NTC, Great Lakes, Illinois, in May 1996. After graduation from Gas Turbine Systems Technician fElectricalj HAP school, 'Chief Jones received orders to USS SIDES QFF G 145 homeported in San Diego, California. Upon advancement to Petty Officer Second Class, he supervised four ju- nior personnel in the operation, maintenance and repair of two LM2500 Gas Turbine Engines and their support equipment. Chief Jones qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare I Specialist in January 2000. ln March 2000, Chief Jones took orders to Pearl Harbor Naval Siiipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Hawaii. While stationed in Pearl Harbor, Chief Jones attained a Secret Clearance and attended Chaminade University, earning an Associate's Degree. He earned the position of System and Instrumentation Calibration Team Leader, leading a combined militaryfcivilian calibration team. Chief Jones advanced to First Class Petty Officer prior to reporting to USS MITSCHER CDDG 573 on January 16, 2004. He i ' ' tt Ch' f Pett Officer for FY-07. He was seryed as LPO for EM05, FCAl and EE0l prior to being selected for advancemen o ie y initiated and pinned GSEC on September 15, 2006. Chief Jones reported to USS RAMAGE QDDG 613 on October 27, 2006 assuming the duties as LCPO ofEM DIV taking charge of MER2 and Main Propulsion electrical duties. .
