COIVIMANDING CJFFICER Captain Gerald L. Riendeau USN Captain Riendeau entered the Navy in July of 1953 as a Naval Aviation Cadet. Designated a Naval Aviator in January 1955. he t e reported to VF-103, flying the FQF-6, F9F-8, and F8U-1. During 1959 he attended the General Line and Naval Science School in Mon er Y California ln July 1960 he reported to VT 23 as a fli ht instructor in the F11F Ca tain Riendeau returned to sea in A ril 1962 as Assistant . - Q . p P CIC Officer in USS ENTERPRISE. ln July 1963, he was ordered to Carrier Division TWO as Aide and Flag Lieutenant. ln January 1955, he reported to VF-14 as Maintenance and later as Operations Officer, flying the F-4B. In June 1966, he received orders to the Armed Forces Staff College. Upon completion, he reported to VF-84 in July 1967 as Operations Officer and later as Executive Officer. Upon detachmen in February 1969, Captain Riendeau reported to the Naval Safety Center where he established the Navy's first System Safety Engineerirlgis Program for the F-14 and the S-3. In July 1970, he returned to VF-84 as Executive Officer and subsequently assumed command. Affef tour he reported to the Strategic Plans and Policy Division of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans and Policy- ln July 1974 Captain Riendeau assumed command Of Carrier Air Win ONE on board USS JOHN F K on relief in Au ust 1975, . Q . ENNEDY. Up 9 he reported as Commander Fighter Wing ONE at Naval Air Station, Oceana, Virginia. On 7 January 1977 he assumed command of USS RALEIGH QLPD-tl. Captain Riendeau is married to the former Alice Murtagh of Malone, New York. They reside in Virginia Beach with their four sons, Jem' Jr., Brian, Christopher and Patrick.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER Commander Ronald K. Lehnus 1 USN Comman Ensign in February 1962 and reported to USS DIACHENKO iAPD-1231 as Damage Control Officer and fleeted up to become Engineer Officer. During 1965, he attended Destroyer School at Newport, Rhode Island. In October 1965, he reported to USS DAMATO iDD-871i 35 Engineer Officer. In May 1967, he was ordered to Naval Activities, United Kingdom, Detachment Greenock, Scotland as Officer in Charge- ln July 1969, he received orders to Couterinsurgency and Vietnamese Language School prior to relieving as Senior Advisor, VietnameSG River Assault Group 22. In May 1970, he reported to CTF 115!Vietnamese CTF213 Staff at Camranh Bay as Advisor for Material and Maintenance. In December 1970, he received orders to the Armed Forces Staff College. Upon completion, he reported to USS PUTNAM QDD-7573 as Executive Offier and later a th d ' ' ' ' ' s e ecommissioning Commanding Officer. ln June 1973, he was assigned to the Personnel Exchange Program and served with the Canadian Forces at HMC Dockyard Halifax N S , , ova cotia until July 1976. In October 1976. he reported to USS RALEIGH iLPD-11 as Executive Officer Comma d . n er Lehnus is married to the former Nancy H. Mead of Norwalk, Connecticutt.
