The work in the Connnercial Department. includes coniplete courses in bookkeeping, tvpewriting, and shorthand, with allied subjects. The bookkeeping taught is the inost niodern adaption of double-entry bookkeeping, the Twentieth flC11llIl VN Course. The latest and niost etiicient courses in touch typewriting are provided. The short- hand taught is the celebrated Gregg systein. lt is the aiin of the Cl0lI1lI1C1'Cl2ll Department to attain a better grade of work constantly. This department is hindered to a great extent because ot lack of tioor space. YVhen Raleigh has its new High School building, these obstacles will have van- ished, and our Connnercial Department will be able to challenge the eiiiciency of any in the State. The Connnercial Department, having the good of the student at heart, helps each graduate find a position. Each year the trouble is not in securing posi- tions for the pupils in this department, but in finding pupils for the available positions. Fifteen
