I heard a grtzfi voice say Clumsy what were you thinking about? Why don t you keep your mind on what you re doing? Iwas very surprised and as I was getting ahold of myself I noticed I and this very peculiar woman were in front of a cave I began to apologize by telllng here who I was and then I Went on to say that I was thinking of what the graduating class of this year would be doing 20 years from now W1th trns her hard drawn face became a b1t more cheerful and she said if I wanted her to tell 'ne Bemg very concerned wlth the future of all my puprls I assured her that I d1d She led noe to her cave Whtch was very dark after commg ln from the very brlght sunlrght but fradu ally my eyes became accustomed to the darkness The interlor was very pecuhar w1th herbs and pot1ons She led me to the fa. end of the cave where she had the makmgs of a bonflre and a huge kettle hangtng about th1s She made the fire and began putting strar ge l1quids and Weeds 1nto the kettle Her faclal expresslon char ged to one that could not be described She looked happy and yet It was terrifymg the way her eyes were ln another world She contmued to sttr the brew until lt began to steam She sald ome magic words to the splrft Ha1l and hubble boll and bubble Tell me the future even though It be trouble Then she kept staring into the steam from whence she recewed her maglc gn and this lS what she told me I see Elwood yes Elwood Toft wearmg a worrted exoresslon wblcn has c-une from many hard years of work He has now establl hed a hosp1tal Nlnch has put nur 11 debt to a great extent H1s hospital is already larger and more eff mem than the Mayo Chmc and Elwood has not yet reached perfectlon ln th1s field He has tatlents from all parts of the world to be healed by hls medtcal rraglc Is that Ar-let? Broadway New York fmds Alyce speeding in a taxi Wonder where she s gomg Ah I see She ts returnmg from the harbor where she has just s en Betty off to Europe Now she 1S going to her Interior decorating shop one of the most famous in New York When she flmshes her day s work she w1ll join her husband who is a stock broker then- home She too has attamed her goal My what lovely V 8 s we have m 1966 but Helen s still r1dmg in the same old one I ee her In Texas ridmg the range Not a horse she likes V 8 s Brings back memories, doesn t It Helen? And somewhere on the ranch is the master of the ranch but not of Helen He s hen peckedll Turning to me she sa1d, Aren t they all? ' Well Helen s settled down but has Bonna? I m not sure but I don't think so The spirits are very confused They say that they don't know if she is living with her colonel husband in Washington D or If she, like Helen is living on a ranch. Perhaps the ranch though so as to be closer to Helen I see a tall lanky ran with a pipe sitting in an easy chair listening to the radio It s Vernon better known as G G Jacobson I interrupted her by saying that I always thought Vernon would be a farmer She became very disgusted with my ignorance and said that he was a farmer I sa1d no more but I didn t understand Farmers just don' t sit in easy chairs with pipes listemng to the radio Then she explained He IS now pressing a button and as he looks out th window mto the orn field and on it s rnarvelouslll The tractor is plowing corn Oh for the l1.fe of a farmer! I thought you were a re spectable teacherl Oh but forgwe me I misgudged Yes it IS Reno but do not fear Arlean Hove li ve there wlth her husband who is a judge m the divorce courts A person can L grant h1mselj a divorce can he? I see another person r1d1ng the range orene Knutsonll I d1dn't thmk she d ever l1ve on a ranch Oh the sp1r1ts fool me She rides the range yes but It is the kltchen range She has four no five little ones Cute too She s making griddle cakes No wonder they l1ve m Georgia She st1ll looks cute 1n rolled up slacks and pigtalls too I see the art gallery ln New York with some beaut1ful pamttngs Are my eyes de ce1v1ng me? World farnousll But too I see Terry in a little kitchen with Bob Her painting must be just a sldelme The steam IS growing f lter but I see some signs yet I see Carroll Sunde runnmg to greet h1s mother who has not seen him s1nce he graduated from college He has been in South America You ask what he has been doing there?
