ANNUAL STAFF The annual staff this year, consists of all the Seniors, with Evelyn Marchand as Editor: Robert Pettit Assistant Editor: Dillard Jensen as Business Manager: and Ella Mae Strand as Assistant Business Manager. The rest of the Seniors have had the hard job of soliciting ads. To all the Seniors we offer our congratulations on a job well done. PAPER STAFF The school paper published by the Students of Rainier High School comes out every month. This year the staff consists of Darrell Jensen as Editor: Ella Mae Strand as Assis- tant Editor: Irene Christensen and Marilyn Ridgway as Business Managers: Bob Pettit as Sports Editor: James Zeller as Assistant Sports Editnr. The reporters consist of various students of the High School and Mr. Daly is the Advisor. RIFLE CLUB The Rifle Club was organized last fall under the direction of Mr. Daly. The club got three new guns and 5, 000 rounds of ammunition from the office of civilian defense. Five boys entered a contest in which they compete with other clubs. The boys are: Ray North, James Zeller, Bob Whittington, Bob Pettit, and John Barnhouse. They are doing fine. The officers of the club are as follows: President, Bob Whittington: Vice Presi- dent, Bob Pettit: Secretary and Treasurer, Daniel Larsen. The meetings are held every Monday night at 7:15 in the basement of the grade school gym. GIRLS' LEAGUE There are about twenty or more girls in the league which consists of Reda Crum- ley as President, Irene Christensen as Secretary, Jo Ann Watson as Treasurer and Ella Mae Strand as Vice President. This year the girls have made it possible to buy some outfits for the cheerleaders. BASKETBALL The league basketball games had not started when the annual went to press. We had a few practice games and showed good ball playing. By the time the league games are started we will be in good shape and hope to win most of our games thisyear. We are on the short side in height but hope to make up for it with speed and accuracy. BASEBALL There are eighteen boys planning to turn out for baseball this year. Of these eighteen boys there are seven returning Iettermen: Bob Pettit, Ray North, Jim Es- sensa, Dennis Pettit, Bob Whittington, Hugh Reichel, and Bob Crumley. New play- ers include Freshman and Sophomore boys with a few upperclassmen.
