Mr. Fred Bell-Stage Band Director STAGE 72” 71” BAND vVhat makes a stagehand something special? The answer is a simple one; it takes a Director like Mr. Fred Bell. With many tears and farewells Mr. Bell will be leaving us after 13 years of his dedicated talents. Over the years Mr. Bell has done an outstanding job and has taken his band to many places such as stagehand competitions, Jass Festivals, and even to England, Ireland, Holland, and France. This year the band played for proms, social events, competed in the Reno Jazz Festival, and to top off the year, performed for the Annual Northwest Natural Gas Supervisor's Dinner at the Thunderbird Hotel. On behalf of the students, faculty, and administration, a deep thanks and sincere appreciation is extended to Mr. Bell for all he has given to Rainier. Rolf, S. Hamer, M. Biggs. CHOIR To start the year off, the choir sold candy to earn money for their scholarship which was presented to Dave Smith at the annual spring concert. On Decem- ber 19th they went to Portland to sing at the Lloyd Center. After they performed they looked through many of the stores at the center. Mass festival was held on May 20th at Clatskanie High School. A concert was held in the evening in which all schools in the Cowapa league participated. May 29th they presented their annual spring concert in the high school auditorium. Dawn Griffith sang Snowbird for the President's solo and received the award for the Most outstanding achievement. The Most Im- proved choir member award went to Evette DeVoe.
