Dennis Edge's death in Viet Nam December of 1968 was felt by all but especially by the wrestlers who knew and admired him. WRESTLERS TAKE DISTRICT AND LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS WRESTLING SEASON SUMMARY Coach Larry D. Wallace led his team to its eighth consecutive winning season. The impressive 17-2 season's record was highlighted by the dual match win over rival Scappoose. The 30-17 win gave Rainier the League Championship. Rainier captured the District Championship a week and a-half later. The team placed ninth in State. Rainier had one State champion, Kelly Bledsoe, a fifth place, Jim Puckett, and two sixth places, Dan Collett and Frank Pellham.
