Long after the dust settles behind the heels of tracksters like Bowers, Cooney, and Pfaffle, after the echoes of Nys' smashing tackles fade away on the gridiron, after the basket- ball backboards recover from the onslaught of Euhus and Lance, students of Rainier will remember the man who helped make these students and others into both athletes and gentlemen-----Coach Eldon Kellar. But he will be remembered not only as a coach but also as a teacher and an assistant to the administrator. To him this year fell the difficult task of reducing the absenteeism in the high school, a job tailor-made for a one-eyed monstor, almost certain to bring a nomination for the meanest man in town. He did the job, yet through it all remained a nice guy. To Coach Kellar, with gratitude, we dedicate this yearbook. 2
