At Sanger, Oregon, a long time ago, Was born a man whom we all know. He soon went to school, as most boys do, And in high school became a football hero too. June, 1917, Bill received a degree In Agricultural Science from O.S.C. Then our country entered World War I So he joined the Marines and shouldered a gun. A civilian again, he taught schools far and near; Then in 1944 Bill decided to try Rainier. As his twelve years here have been rolling by, Farmer” Bill has worked hard for Rainier High. The Ag. department has doubled in size, And in guiding the F.F. A. he has proved to be most wise. Honorary degree of State Farmer has been given to ten boys And the title of Keystone Chapter the whole club enjoys. To each one comes a time when honor is due, Now, Mr. Cunning it's our pleasure to honor you. So with you go our wishes good and true. As we dedicate our '56 Emeraude to you. 2
