Holdovers from this team include Bob Hansen, Steve Danchok, centers; Jim Rea, Mike Brusco, David Hadlock, guards; Don Talbot and Larry Hansen, ends; Alan Norman and Mark Thomas, backs. Two new transfers that are expected to add strength to the team are Jim White and Lloyd Koenig. With all these boys on hand prospects for next season are excellent. Ronnie Philbrook, Mike Harmon, and Steve Oliva SEATED: KNEELING: STANDING: With only a few lettermcn returning from lasy year's squad and a new system employed, the basketball squad did quite well. Losing most of their early season games, the Columbians came back to win four of their last 7 conference games to finish in fourth place. 42 Baseball Team Beauties The baseball team finished league play in 6th place with a 2 won 5 lost record. The fact that this young and inexperienced team which only loses three members through graduation, played every opponent a very close game indicated they will be hard to get along with in the future. Team members, seated from left to right, are: J. Anderson, J. Stennick, M. Brusco, D. Anderson, E. Barton, R. Hirtzel, J. Bryant, and T. Stennick. Second row: Coach Fred Wilson, R. Erickson, G. Berg, manager. 43 Bert Dilley, David Truett, and Allen Tietjin formed the mucleus of the track team. Thirty-two boys formed the squad that improved steadily as the season progressed. The team took part in ten meets. Bob Bowers and Allen Tietzen went to the district meet at Beaverton. Prospects for next season are bright. 44 Bert Dilley Allen Tietjin Ken Ga-ton Senior Play Willie's Weekend , was a farce-comedy in three acts. Recast of the play: Mrs. Winkle fears that her wealthy son might have a heart attack. ... in which case his large inheritance goes to a cat hospital, so while redecorating their home she sends him to the Bide Awee Nursing Home. Surrounded by pretty nurses and befuddled patients who think they are Captain Kidd and Napoleon , Willie has quite a number of exciting experiences during his weekend . Marvin Kellar as Napoleon , and Eric Sanders as Captain Kidd . 46 Trial Ry jury V This year's operetta. Trial by Jury, was enjoyed by the audience as well as the cast performing.
