A new style, a new adviser and a talented staff worked closely together as the Viking Shield strove to meet the high expecta- tions of the past years. With the experience of the adviser, Mar- sha Piercey, the staff enthusiasti- cally faced the 86-87 school year with hopes. First of all, some changes were made. The traditional Shield became the Viking Shield. The next change was in their format. The staff spent the year preparing for the Washington Press Association banquet, in hopes of being recog- nized as the state's best school publication. with Style
