Early defeats at the hands of Eastern Alamance and South¬ east Guilford cost the Tigers a shot at the Mid-State 3A Con¬ ference title. RHS still had a chance when the Rams of NE Guilford invaded Tiger Territory for Homecoming: 1971. After 48 minutes of gridiron mayhem, the Rams left the em¬ barrassed Tigers behind with a 21-0 shutout. There were some bright spots, however. Junior running back Prince Deese will be back, as will a good deal of other players. Many seniors, also, performed with excellent ability. Still, the Tigers mauled Allen Jay. That in itself takes away some of the pain. A 6-4 record is not that bad, anyhow. Halfback Prince Deese suits up for another performance. Jim Bolden takes off with an intercepted pass. i 16
