W David S McLean rs serving hrs frr I year as Superintendent of the Schools of Radnor Town ship Mr McLean came to our community after years of suc cessful teaching and admrnrs terrng A natrve of Paterson New Iersey he at tended the schools of that town Upon graduation from Clifton High School Mr McLean matriculated at Montclair Teachers College in New Iersey and later did graduate work at Columbia University and Harvard Unrversrty His teaching career began in Ridgewood New Iersey where he served as teacher and elementary school principal Later he went to Maywood New Iersey as elementary principal From that positron he moved on to Harvard University to teach in the Department of Education He next served as Assist ant Superintendent of Schools rn Greenwich Con nectrcut whence he came to Radnor in Iuly of 1951 Wrthrn a few weeks of hrs arrrval in Wayne Mr McLean had endeared himself to all who came to know hrrn Hrs insight into the ramrfrcatrons of hrs responsrbrlrty hrs quick grasp of the nature of prob lems large and small hrs unfarlrng good humor and affabrlrty all these attributes and more have in creased his stature rn our eyes Pleased with what he found at Radnor Mr McLean intends to keep the schools of the township moving ever forward Hrs successful conduct of the cam paign last November to provide needed monies for the enlargement of existing facilities and the erec- tion of a new elementary building on the Chew Tract attests to his ability to interest the public in the needs of education.
