rv The Glen Tetley Dance Company. Carnival Begins ’69 Concert Series The Glen Tetley Dance Company. The Radford College Popular Concert Series had opened on Oct. 21 with “Carnival , a broadway musical-comedy about an orphan who wanders into a carnival. The show featured all of the performers customarily found at a carnival. The Brothers Four presented a concert on Nov 17. Their folk songs ranged from traditional ballads to modern satires and protest songs. Carmen”, the most popular French opera in modem history, was presented on Feb. 23 and 24. The story, set in nineteenth century Seville, is about a love affair between a gypsy. Carmen, and a soldier. The opera was performed by the Goldovsky Grand Opera Theater. The Glen Tetley Dance Company performed on April 21. Under the direction of Mr. Glen Tetley, they presented a modern dance program.

Broadway Musical Hit Presented On March 8 At Radford College The Broadway production, “Man of La Manche , was presented on March 3 in Preston Auditorium. The play had the original stars, David Atkinson and Patricia Maraud, appearing. This prize winning musical was arranged by the National Performing Arts. Inc., of New York. The play, based on Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, is still playing on Broadway. 'Hie featured song and tut of the year is “The Impossible Dream”, sung by David Atkinson. David Atkinson sang the hit song in the finale. Miss Patricia Maraud. Aldonza, co-starred in the drama. Man of La Mancha. 30
