In presenting to our seven hundred students and their friends this the 1947 edition of the Radford BEE HIVE the editorial staff wishes the book to serve as a tribute to that great section of the Commonwealth in which the College stands and from which it sheds its wholesome influence, namely, Southwest Virginia. And so, from place to place throughout these pages, the reader will be pleased, we trust, by our choice of scenes presented, and of historical passages quoted, to illustrate the courageous development of this our own uniquely beautiful, thriving, and beloved section of the Old Dominion.
