l Senior Qfficers At last we are Seniors, something that had seemed so far away in 1942, but is an actual reality now in 1946. 'It was a long, hard climb up the ladder for us, what with our school work and with so many of our thoughts directed to the boys overseas. WVe tried to do our share here at the College and at home for the people who were so gallantly fighting so that we and others to come might have the privilege of getting an education. Many of us lost relatives and friends, dear to our hearts, but we kept on, knowing they were still behind us. Our years at Radford have had many bright spots, which were our Freshman Banquet, our entertainment as guests of the Juniors, the wonderful formals and Satur- day night hops, the many impressive Lyceum programs, our Senior Week, and most of all meeting and making many close friends with the Students and Faculty. None of us will ever forget how much everyone has cooperated with us and made our years at Rad- ford the best ever. The true Radford spirit will live in each and every one of our hearts, and we shall always hold Radford College in the highest esteem. We truly hope that we shall always be worthy of this great institution and reflect its ideals at all times. The Senior Class has always cooperated in the finest spirit. That is one reason the officers fSue Smalley, president, Mary McGhee, vice president, Jewell Williams, secretary and treasurer, Thelma Nolan, reporter, Mary Elizabeth Pennington, Mary Ann jones and Glenna DeBord, Student Council Representativesj, have done such fine work. Our success as a class is due not only to cooperation, but also to our sponsor, Dr. Thomas, who gave us helpful guidance and a friendly smile just when we needed it most. ' Each year has brought to our class broader horizons and keener values, and now as We are about to leave our Alma Mater, we realize the high privilege of the close ties of friendship with classmates and faculty which we trust will endure. Further, we feel the responsibility and enthusiasm of those who are prepared to go forth and play a part in the brave new world which has been preserved for us. E241
