Hubert is known all up and down 5th Avenue for his famed product which he makes in his own kitchen 45.6,-gg In one of his unguarded moments, you might catch him singing That s Amore. Jerry Bergeson, who recently completed his ag course at Iowa State, is now '54 ' farming west of Radcliffe. Besides farming he is a representative for the Pioneer ' s Seed Corn Company as Pfister Co. went bankrupt. Oleta Liittschwager is now employed by the Bell Telephone Company and is theswitcnboardoperator at Buckeye. Being a very energetic worker, she is on a 24- hour shift. Argyl Ullestad, proprietor of our local Cadillac garage, recently published his first book. He acquired the background for his book How to Raise Turkeys , from' his ag courses in high school and the time he spent raising turkeys before entering his present business. Richard Hanson is driving an Offenhauser racing car for the Bardahl Oil Com- X pany. As a sideline, heisells motorized baby buggies for handicapped mothers. Howard Fosse, multi- millionaire, is now retired and resides in his mansion at Long Island. The reason for Mr. Fosse's prominence is his invention of a 5 ' A bicycle built for 3 . These bicycles went over with a bang and millions have -Q. - E, Q J been produced and sold. Laurice Streyffeler, surgical doctor, of Cook County Hospital, performed his first operation last week: but was soon barred from the medical profession when he was unable to locate some of his surgical instruments after the operation. The staff became suspicious when the patient began to have sharp land we do mean sharpj pains during the night. The former Betty Peterson, now Mrs. Jerald Bergeson, is a home ec. teacher in the Radcliffe School. Her favorite pastime is selling seed corn with her husband. ' HM? Larry L. Swenson is now playing basketball for the Minneapolis Lakers. 5.353 He recently suffered a broken leg and is not expected to score more than 40 points in his next game. ' I imagine myself driving by Ramona Ranger's house and I see ten children fl , f playing in the yard. 4 Now don't get excited, she runs a day nursery. gh X Richard Hake is continuing his bus-driving career that he started in high ,K ' K X school. He was driving for the 'Greyhound Bus Line but now has his own line, 1 the Hakehound . His motto is No breakdowns with Hakehounds . X! ' Thelma Roe is a Comptometer operator at Bankers Life. She just mar- - ried her boss, the president of Bankers Life. Junior Tuttle and Ruth Hansen are operating the Milky Way Cafe at the American landing stop on the earth to moon route. . Jimmy Bergeson plays the comet in Spike Jones' Band. Jimmy is very proud of his position because he's about the only one in Mr. Jones' band who can read music. Possibly in the near future, he will have a band of his own. ' The time of Fred Astaire has passed now and there is a new star on the horizon. ,- Dallas Twinkletoes Kinney has the world tapping their toes right along with him. 7 c However, he still hasn't given up his thoughts of being a mortician. ' ' - 7.7 Geraldine Frette is secretary of the Whodunit Detective Agency. She is quoted J X C A as saying, 'We find anything from a needle in a haystack to the lost chord . A ', 'I ' ' If you ever need money, just call on DeFlorin Olson. He's just oozing with X, 3 4 money since he has become a big financieron Wall Street. He attributes his success 1 v to playing the stock markets in economics class. ' I Lois Elwick lives in Minnesota where she is vice-president of the Minneapolis School of Medical Technology. ln her spare time she test- drives Studebakers. Y 4 Carl Pickering, the famed hill-billy singer, is currently offering vocalanu dance 0 lessons at Pickering's Jump and Jive Schoo1 . Since the opening of this school, Hubbard i:gif'f'1g, .? has became the hill-billy metropolis of Hardin County. wi, 57' -' ' Ted Maakestad has taken over the management of the hot- lunch program in the Rad- - cliffe School. His inspiration for this type of work came after two years o K. P. duty with the U.S. Army. Lois Rasmussen is modeling for the tall- miss at the Over 5-7 Shoppe. She will be - glad when the shorter lengths come back into style so she won't trip over her .skirts so much. Barbara Hinderaker has established Barb's Barber Shoppe in Hubbard. She will cut your hair anyway you want it but her specialty is butches. Distinguished playwright, Clark Borland, has just produced another smash hit on Broadway. When inter- viewed, Clark said, I got my inspiration from the days I spent daydreaming in 5th- period study halls and sociology class back home in our old high school. uwnw Don Crabtree, king of the film industry, nosed out Clark Gable and became an ,Nix - - - 3 overnight success. Last night he was seen dining in the Brown Derby with movie queen, , Paula Dejure. 'i l'- Naomi Bjerkestrand is now a nurse at the Iowa City Hospital. She went through a specialized 3- year course in 4 weeks. Jeraldine Olson is also a nurse at Iowa City. She did not do nearly as well as Naomi in school. it took her 6 weeks to become a nurse. Frances Skrovig manages a correspondence bureau in Zearing. She has developed her passion for writing letters into a paying proposition. She says, l still think it's more fun to promote my own friend- ships rather than someone else's, but one must make a living somehow, mustn't one? , , Republican Alvin Clark, was recently elected U.S. Senator from iowa. He says his e Z immediate plans are to introduce a retirement plan for high school bus drivers. r .. ' 5 Kathryn Helgeson is an actress in the movie industry. Her latest movie is 'The sg Q5 Outlaws from Deadhead Gulch,'Neath Starry dries, South of the Alamo, with Loaded '. Sixguns . This is a Western. ' X Shirley Anderson is now a beautician and has her shop in Des Moines. She is very skillful at her trade and is recommended by Gorgeous George . Continued on page 55 , I7
